The Funded Project:

The Korea Times will launch a family-friendly event series to provide the local community a fun opportunity to connect while sharing in Korean holiday traditions. Events will feature partners and activities designed to engage, connect and build trust within L.A. Koreatown’s multicultural community.

In Their Own Words:

We are looking toward attracting new audience and solving subscription challenges. We are trying to find more revenue streams.

The best case scenario is for us to find effective ways to plan and execute offline events that encourage loyalty, community building, and audience education/engagement opportunities that will attract new, mainstream sponsors as well as paying subscribers to e-newsletters and new events.

With this grant, we first plan to start community event programming around key holidays that will give our audience a reason to gather and connect with our organization with their families. The Korean American immigrant community still celebrates holidays that are culturally significant and there are many in fall and winter.

Our activities will have education elements built in which will be valuable info to our audience.
